Conditions of use

  • Immobilise the vehicle.
  • If there is any ice or snow preventing the luggage compartment door from opening, this ice or snow must be removed to free the luggage compartment door.
  • In the event that the battery is discharged or if it is changed, the luggage compartment must be closed (manually if necessary) to restart the luggage compartment door motor.

Depending on the vehicle, there are various ways to unlock and operate the luggage compartment door:

  • using the locking/unlocking button on the remote control key Key, remote control;
  • using the locking/unlocking button on the card Card;
  • using the external luggage compartment door control;
  • using the "hands-free" function
  • using the dashboard control.

As a safety precaution, the doors should only be opened/closed when the vehicle is stationary.

Manual controls

To open

Depending on the vehicle, press the dashboard control 1 or the button 2, the luggage compartment door opens automatically.

Note: ensure that there is enough space around the luggage compartment door before opening it.

tip

When opening or closing the luggage compartment door, ensure that nothing obstructs the manoeuvre.

To close

Lower the luggage compartment door using the handle inside the luggage compartment to assist you.

warning

Never use the struts to close the luggage compartment door.

"Hands-free" function

The "hands-free" function enables allows you to access the luggage compartment when you have your hands full.

Ensure that the card is approximately one metre away in the central area of the rear bumper of the vehicle (area B).

With the ignition off, stand approximately 45 centimetres from the vehicle's rear bumper and move your foot forwards and backwards in area A.

The sensor detects the approach and then the removal of your foot and triggers the opening of the luggage compartment door.

Do not keep your foot in the air.

Perform the movement without stopping and without touching the rear bumper.

Deactivate the "hands-free" function before you:

  • wash the vehicle in a roller-type car wash;
  • wash the vehicle by hand;
  • handle the towing equipment;
  • ...

Risk of accidental opening of the luggage compartment door which may cause injury.

Activation/deactivation of the "hands-free" function

To activate or deactivate the function, refer to the multimedia instructions.

Select "ON" or "OFF".

Special feature of the "hands-free" function

  • The "hands-free" function is no longer available after the vehicle has not been used for a few days, or after around 15 minutes if the vehicle is unlocked. To reactivate it, use the unlocking button on the card.
  • The "hands-free" function is only available if the vehicle is stationary and the engine is switched off (and not on standby with the "Stop and start" function).
  • The "hands-free" function may not work if the vehicle is equipped with a towbar or if located in an area with a high electromagnetic radiation.

User precautions

  • Before opening the tailgate, ensure that the surrounding space is sufficient to permit operation of the luggage compartment door. Otherwise, stop the movement of the luggage compartment door before it makes contact.
  • The system may experience temporary difficulties if one of the sensors integrated in the rear of the bumper is obscured (by dirt, mud, snow, gritting salt, etc.). Clean the sensors. If there is still a problem, contact an approved dealer.

Note: in very cold weather conditions, the automatic opening may not work if the tailgate seals are frozen.

The attachment of any carrying device (bike rack, luggage box etc.) resting on the luggage compartment door is prohibited.

To install a carrying device on your vehicle, contact an approved dealer.

Opening manually from inside the vehicle

If it is impossible to unlock the luggage compartment, it can be done manually from inside:

  • access the luggage compartment by folding down the rear bench seatback(s);
  • insert a flat-blade screwdriver or similar tool underneath the carpet above the mechanism 3 and slide the assembly as shown in the illustration;
  • push the boot lid to open it.
