Coolant temperature warning light

The light shows blue when the ignition or engine is started and goes off as soon as the engine reaches operating temperature.

If it turns red, stop and let the engine idle for a minute or two.

The temperature should lower and the warning light should go out. Otherwise, stop the engine. Let the engine cool down before checking the coolant level.
