Breakdown recovery
Before towing, set the lever to neutral (N position on vehicles with an automatic gearbox), then wait approximately one minute (on the E-tech Full Hybrid version), unlock the steering column then release the parking brake.
The speed specified by current legislation for towing must always be observed.
If you are driving the towing vehicle, do not exceed the maximum towing weight for your vehicle Weights (in kg).
Steering column unlocking
With the card in the passenger compartment, press the engine start button for approximately two seconds.
Reposition the lever to neutral (position N for vehicles fitted with an automatic gearbox).
On the E-Tech Full Hybrid version, wait approximately one minute before towing. The steering column unlocks and the accessory functions are powered: you can use the vehicle's lights (direction indicators, brake lights etc.). At night the vehicle must have its lights on.
Once you have finished towing, you can (depending on the vehicle) press the engine start button twice (risk of running down the battery).

Towing a vehicle fitted with an automatic gearbox
Transport the vehicle on a trailer or tow it with the front wheels off the ground.
Except for the E-Tech full hybrid version, it is also possible to tow the vehicle with all four wheels on the ground (forwards only), with the gearbox in Neutral N position, over a maximum distance of 50 miles (80 km) and at a maximum speed of 16 mph (25 km/h).

Do not leave the tools unsecured inside the vehicle as they may be projected during braking.
Only use the front 4 and rear 10 towing points.
(never use the drive shafts or any other part of the vehicle). These towing points may only be used for pulling. They must never be used for lifting the vehicle directly or indirectly.

When the engine is stopped, steering and braking assistance are no longer provided.
Access to towing points
Front towing point 4
Press zone 1 and keep the pressure on while pulling zone 3 to open the flap 2.
Tighten the towing eye 5 fully: first by hand as far as possible, then finish by locking it using the wheelbrace or, depending on the vehicle, the lever.
Only use the towing eye 5 and the wheelbrace or lever provided with the tools.
Special case: refitting the flap 2
- Place the hook 6 in its housing 7;
- press the areas in the following order: 1, 8 then 2.
Rear towing point 10
Press zone 11 and keep the pressure on while pulling zone 9 to open the flap 12.
Tighten the towing eye 5 fully: first by hand as far as possible, then finish by locking it using the wheelbrace or, depending on the vehicle, the lever.
You must only use the towing ring 5 and the wheel brace or the lever stored with the tools Tools.

Ensure that the tow eye is screwed in correctly.
Risk of losing the towed object.

- Use a rigid tow bar. If a rope or cable is used (where the law allows this), the vehicle being towed must be able to brake.
- a vehicle must not be towed if it is not fit to be driven.
- avoid accelerating or braking suddenly when towing, as this may result in damage being caused to the vehicle.
- In any case, it is advisable not to exceed 16 mph (25 km/h).
