Position the ball in relation to bolts 1 or 2 in such a way that respects the height B, which must be between 350 and 420 mm with the vehicle loaded (as shown in the illustration above). To fit the tow ball, see the equipment fitting instructions.

Choice and fitting of towing equipment

Maximum weight of towing equipment:

  • Towbar (cross member and hitch) originally fitted to the vehicle: the tow ball (fixed/retractable/removable) must not exceed 7.3 kg;
  • Towbar (cross member and hitch) not originally fitted to the vehicle: the entire towbar and mountings must not exceed 28.5 kg.

Any towing device must not obstruct any lighting component or the number plate when not in use.

In all cases, you must comply with the regulations of the particular country you are in.

Vehicles used fully loaded (Maximum Permissible All-up Weight) and towing a trailer:

  • The maximum speed must be limited to 62 mph (100 km/h) and the tyre pressure increased by 0.2 bar Weights (in kg).
