new Renault Twingo

INTRODUCTION

Your car is fitted with an original protection system against intrusion attempts.

It is controlled by the car key/badge.

The perimetric protection ensures opening’s protection against intrusion (protection of the doors, hood and trunk).

ALARM ARMING

When you lock your car doors with your remote control or with «hands-free» mode (according to car model), the direction indicators will flash normally. The perimetric car alarm is armed after a while after the vehicle is locked.

ALARM DISARMING

The alarm is disarming by unlocking doors using the remote control / or in the «hands-free» mode, the protection system is disarmed and the direction indicators flash once. For emergency override please consult dedicated chapter.

PROTECTION

When the protection system is armed (after vehicle is locked by remote control or by «hands-free» feature), the opening of the hood, trunk or one of the lateral doors will trigger an approx. 27 seconds alarm profile. Alarm is triggered if a diagnostic plug is connected to diagnostic socket. Alarm profile consists of sound and the illumination of direction indicators.

The alarm cycle is repeated maximum 10 times, if there are 10 intrusion trials. At the end of a cycle, lacking new intruder attempts, the alarm stops, and the central alarm unit remains in active stand-by until it is disarmed.

EMERGENCY OVERRIDE

When the remote control / badge / «hands-free» badge doesn’t work (exhausted battery, another device using the same frequency or area with strong electromagnetic fields):

  • unlock the vehicle door with the physical key;

  • open the door (sound alert will be activated);

  • In case of vehicle with a key, insert the key in the ignition switch, then turn the key to ignition ON position. In case of a vehicle with a card, place the card on back-up position, then press the start/stop button until ignition is ON.

The alarm will disarm.
