1.
Ignition-starter key and door key.

Radio frequency remote control operating range

This varies according to the environment: take care not to lock or unlock the doors accidentally by inadvertently pressing the buttons on the remote control.
Note: on certain vehicles, if a door is not opened within approximately two minutes of the door being unlocked by remote control, the doors will lock again automatically.

Interference

Interference by factors in the immediate vicinity (external installations or the use of equipment operating on the same frequency as the remote control) may affect the operation of the remote control.
Tip
For replacement, or if you require an additional remote control.
You must only contact an approved Dealer.
  • If you need to replace a remote control, it will be necessary to take the vehicle and all of its keys to an approved Dealer in order to initialise the system.
  • Depending on the vehicle, you have the option of using up to four remote controls.
Remote control unit failure
Always make sure that the correct battery type is being used, and that the battery is in good condition and inserted correctly. These batteries should have a service life of approximately two years.

Use

Radio frequency remote control A

The remote controls A lock and unlock the front doors, the sliding side doors and the rear hinged doors.
They are powered by a battery which can be replaced RADIO FREQUENCY REMOTE CONTROL: BATTERY.
Tip
The key must not be used for any function other than those described in the handbook (removing the cap from a bottle, etc.).

Locking the doors

Press button 4.
The hazard warning lights and side indicator lights flash twice to indicate locking.
Depending on the vehicle, press and hold button 4 to lock the vehicle and close the front windows.
Note: pressing button 4 once locks the front or rear zone if all of the opening elements in the zone are locked.
Tip
If the hazard warning lights and side indicator lights do not flash when the vehicle is locked, check that all the opening elements are locked.

Unlocking the doors

Pressing button 3 unlocks the front doors in Secure mode and unlocks all the opening elements in Access mode.
There are two ways to use the remote control: access mode and secure mode.
To switch between the remote control user modes, use the "Access" menu from the trip computer or, depending on the vehicle, from the multimedia screen VEHICLE SETTINGS PERSONALISATION MENU.
Note: in the event of disconnection/replacement of the 12 Volt battery, the "Access" mode will be reconfigured by default.
Briefly press button 5 to unlock the rear hinged doors and the sliding side door.
The hazard warning lights and side indicator lights flash once to indicate unlocking.
Tip
With the engine running and the ignition on IGNITION SWITCH, the remote control buttons are inactive.

To lock/unlock the doors from the inside LOCKING, UNLOCKING THE OPENING ELEMENTS AND DOORS.

The remote controls B are used to lock and unlock the front doors and to switch on the lights.
It is powered by a battery which must be replaced RADIO FREQUENCY REMOTE CONTROL: BATTERY.

Press locking button 4.
The hazard warning lights and side indicator lights flash twice to indicate locking.
Depending on the vehicle, press and hold button 4 to lock the vehicle and close the front windows.

Switching on-switching off the lights

Press button 5 to switch the dipped beam headlights on or off.

Deadlocking

If fitted to the vehicle, this allows the doors to be locked and prevents them from being opened with the interior handles (for example, by breaking the window and then trying to open the doors from the inside).
WARNING
Never use deadlocking if someone is still inside the vehicle.

To activate deadlocking

Press button 4 twice in quick succession.
Locking is confirmed by two slow flashes and three quick flashes of the hazard warning lights and side indicator lights.

To deactivate deadlocking

Press button 3 once.
Unlocking is indicated by one flash of the hazard warning lights and the indicator lights.

Replacing the battery

Open the case at slot 6 using a flat-blade screwdriver or similar tool and replace the battery 7, observing the type and polarity indicated on the back of the cover.
Note: it is not advisable to touch the electronic circuit in the key cover when replacing the battery.
When refitting, ensure that the cover is correctly clipped on and the screw tightened.
WARNING
When they need to be replaced, be sure to use the same or equivalent type of battery (consult an Approved Dealer).
Tip
The batteries are available from approved Dealers, and their service life approximately two years. Check that there is no dye on the battery: risk of an incorrect electrical contact.

Operating faults

If the battery is too weak to ensure correct operation, you will still be able to start and lock/unlock the vehicle LOCKING, UNLOCKING THE OPENING ELEMENTS AND DOORS.
Tip
Do not throw away your used batteries as rubbish. Take them to an approved dealer or consult your local authority for information on appropriate recycling facilities.

When replacing:
  • make sure that the batteries are correctly inserted.

  • if the flap does not close correctly, do not use and keep out of reach of children.

  • keep batteries (new or used) out of reach of children;
  • do not swallow batteries;
