Operating principle

Ultrasonic sensors, indicated by arrows 1, are fitted in the bumpers to measure the distance between the vehicle and an obstacle.

This measurement is indicated by beeps which become more frequent the closer you come to the obstacle, until they become a continuous beep when the vehicle is approximately 20 to 30 centimetres from the obstacle.

Depending on the configuration of the vehicle, the system detects obstacles to the front, the rear and the sides of the vehicle.

The 'Active driver assist' is a driving aid system designed for use on long motorway journeys, where traffic is flowing or in jams.

Depending on the vehicle, when the “Road Sign Detection” function is activated, the system can adapt the speed of your vehicle according to the detected speed limit.

The cruise control function helps you to maintain your driving speed at a speed that you choose, called the cruising speed.

The speed limiter function controls the engine to help you not to exceed a driving speed that you have chosen, known as the limit speed.
