General information

This vehicle is equipped with the following anchorage components:

  • Two removable electric reels with automatic locking or two standard reels, located at the front of the vehicle and attachable to the front bases, including a strap with a length of 3,100 mm and an end fitting Using front (electric) reels;
  • Two standard reels with end fittings and buckles, located at the rear of the vehicle and attachable to the rear bases Using the rear reels;
  • Mounting bases;

Mounting bases

A pair of bases at the front and a pair at the rear can be used to attach the reels.

If the vehicle is equipped with an adaptable configuration (wheelchair forwards or backwards position), there will be two pairs of bases at the front A and two pairs at the rear B.

warning

Make sure to use the correct bases according to whether the wheelchair is in the forwards or backwards position. A colour code is present to facilitate fitting of the reels:

Grey colour for the forward position;

2.

Black colour for the backward position.

Safety instructions

This anchorage kit complies with the ISO 10542 :2012. standard

It is necessary to inspect the various components of the system regularly and to replace them in the event of signs of wear or damage.

If the vehicle is involved in an accident while the webbing is in use, replace the webbing immediately.

warning

The reels can only be attached to one wheelchair at a time.

warning

The shoulder belt is intended only for attaching a passenger weighing a minimum of 22 kg. Passengers weighing any less must use a child-adapted retaining system. Do not use the seat belt to secure the wheelchair.

warning

The wheelchair must be fastened before the occupant.

warning

When securing the wheelchair, you must ensure that the straps are properly unwound so that the A "LOCKED" label is visible. After use and once the reels have been disconnected, ensure that the straps are stored away so that in the event of an impact they will not damage the floor or become projectiles.

warning

Do not make any modifications to the equipment.

warning

Refer to the wheelchair manufacturer for instructions related to transportation (attachment points, etc.). You must also ensure that it is approved for transport, including its accessories (battery, etc.). If not, remove them before transportation and attach them securely in the vehicle so that they do not become projectiles in the event of an impact.

Ensure that the anchorage straps are positioned in compliance with the recommended attachment angles Installation on board the vehicle. You must also make sure that the wheelchair has enough space Dimensions and be aware of the airbag positions.

Instructions for use and maintenance

The manufacturer can provide written instructions for the maintenance and use of the system for attaching a wheelchair and people. Use only a forward-facing wheelchair whose structure complies with the relevant section of the ISO 7176-19 standard (wheelchair approved for transportation).

These instructions include the following descriptions:

a) the mounting system for the wheelchair and its occupant as well as instructions for use.

b) the type of anchorage equipment used in the vehicle.

c) devices required to attach a wheelchair to the anchorage points.

d) the guide to cleaning the webbing and attachment system components for the wheelchair and its occupant.

The instructions will include the following recommendations:

a) using a passenger seat belt other than the one specified for attaching a wheelchair occupied by a person may hinder its effectiveness.

b) the armchair/person attachment system must only be used with a wheelchair facing the front of the vehicle.

c) the armchair/person attachment system components, including the anchorages, must be replaced if they were in use during an impact.

d) the armchair/person attachment system can be used for only one wheelchair and one person.

e) the seat belt supports cannot be used to restrain the passenger.

f) the related wheelchair equipment is attached to the wheelchair or removed from the wheelchair and attached in the vehicle during transportation, in order not to move freely and not to cause any damage to the occupants of the vehicle during an impact.

g) the parts attached to the wheelchair in front of the occupant, other than the foot rests, are to be removed as much as possible and attached during transportation in order to reduce the risk of injury to the person in the wheelchair and other people in the vehicle.

The instructions include information whereby:

a) the system for attaching the wheelchair and its occupant complies with the ISO 10542-1 standard.

b) the webbing must not be soiled by polish, oil and chemical products – especially battery acid. Products suitable for cleaning the wheelchair/occupant attachment system must be used.

c) If the webbing is cut, soiled or damage, or if parts are damaged, they it must be replaced.

d) the strap must be protected and not be in contact with objects that have sharp edges or corners.

e) the occupant's seat belts must be adjusted to suit the user.

Seat belts

1) A 3-point shoulder belt must be used to reduce the risk of impact to the head and chest of the occupant with vehicle components.

2) the extent to which the head and the chest moves will depend on the locations of the torso belt attachment points and may increase the distance between the anchorage point above and behind the shoulders.

3) The seat belt pelvic strap must be used in the lower position in front of the pelvis to support the person's skeleton, and the junction between the pelvic strap and the shoulder must be positioned near the passenger's hip.

4) The angle of the pelvic strap must be in an area between 45° to 75° horizontally or 30° to 45° horizontally, as shown in the diagram:

5) The seat belts must not be separated from the body by the armrests or the wheels of the wheelchair.

6) The occupant's seat belts must be adjusted as firmly as possible while remaining comfortable.

7) The upper torso restraints must be adjusted above the shoulders.

8) The upper torso anchorage points or the strap guide are adjustable in height and must be placed at or above the shoulders of the wheelchair user in order not to apply top-down weight on their spine in the event of an impact.

9) The restraint strap must not be used if it is twisted.

Using front (electric) reels

B. System on standby

To lock/unlock the reels, use the push button 1 located on the rear right-hand trim: press the button to unlock the reels, and lift it to lock again. The ignition must be switched on to unlock the electric reels. The system switches to standby approximately 10 minutes after the ignition is switched on in order to preserve the vehicle battery. It will then be necessary to switch on the ignition again to unlock the reels. A warning light comes on to indicate that a system is operational and goes out to indicate that a system is in standby.

Installation

Fit the reel on the base in the same way as a manual reel Using the front reels (manual), then plug in the connector.

Removal

Press the tab 2 to disconnect the connector, then remove the reel from the base in the same way as for a manual reel Using the front reels (manual).

warning

When installing the seats or winding around the bases 3 of the reels, you must pay attention to the cables and connectors. Risk of damage.

Magnets 4

Magnets 4 are positioned on the floor to allow the straps to be left unwound and the end fittings can be accessed from the rear of the vehicle to facilitate installation of the wheelchair.

warning

Do not drive with the straps unwound. Risk of injury.

Using the front reels (manual)

Installation

1.

Slide the reel eyelet sideways on the base. Then, turn the reel from the inside to the outside, towards the rear of the vehicle.

warning

The left-hand reel and the right-hand reel are not interchangeable: the red part of the buckle must be on the outside in relation to the wheelchair.

2.

Press the yellow lever to unlock the reel strap 3, attach it to the wheelchair, then turn the knob 4 to ensure that the strap is tense.

Removal

3.

Unlock the straps by pressing the yellow lever 2 and unfasten the end fittings from the wheelchair frame.

Slide the reel out of the base by turning it from the outside towards the inside of the vehicle, towards the front of the vehicle, then sliding it sideways.

Using the rear reels

Installation

1.

Slide the eyelet of the reel sideways on the base, from the inside towards the outside of the vehicle. Then, turn the reel towards the front of the vehicle.

warning

The left-hand reel and the right-hand reel are not interchangeable: the red part of the buckle must be on the outside in relation to the wheelchair.

2.

Press the yellow lever to unlock the reel strap 3, attach it to the wheelchair, then turn the knob 4 to ensure that the strap is tense.

Removal

3.

Unlock the straps by pressing the yellow lever 2 and unfasten the end fittings from the wheelchair frame.

Slide the reel out of the base by turning it towards the rear of the vehicle, then slide it sideways from the outside towards the inside of the vehicle.

Using the shoulder belt

The rear seat belt 1 may be used for the wheelchair or the rear central seat. This vehicle cannot hold more than five passengers. The wheelchair may only be installed at the location(s) provided for this purpose according to the vehicle configuration Wheelchair position.

warning

Ensure that the seat belt is as close to the body as possible and well-positioned at the pelvis.

Using for a wheelchair

1.
Remove the seat belt from its holder on the rear left-hand side pillar.
2.

Hold the seat belt tongue and position it in the wheelchair's left-hand anchorage buckle. Press the tongue until you hear the "snap" locking noise.

warning

Be careful not to press the tongue on the belt reel 4.

3.

Hold the belt's central tongue and connect it to the buckle of the rear right-hand reel. Press until the you hear the "click" locking noise.

4.

To unlock the seat belt, press the button on each buckle to release the tongues, taking care to hold on to the straps. Reposition the seat belt tongue in its storage compartment after use.

Using for the central seat

1.
Remove the seat belt from its holder on the rear left-hand side pillar.
2.

Hold the seat belt tongue and position it in the left-hand buckle of the central seat 5. Press the tongue until you hear the "snap" locking noise.

3.

Hold the seat belt central tongue and position it in the right-hand buckle of the central seat 4. Press until the you hear the "click" locking noise.

To unlock the seat belt, press the button on each buckle in the reverse order to release the seat belt tongues, taking care to hold on to the straps. Reposition the seat belt in its storage compartment after use.
