Renault Boreal
As indicated by the arrows 1, ultrasonic detectors on the vehicle's bumpers help to find accessible parking spaces and facilitate parking manoeuvring.
Remove your hands from the steering wheel; It will only be possible to control:
the accelerator pedal;
the brake pedal;
the gear lever.
You can regain control at any time using the steering wheel.
warning
This function is an additional aid. It cannot, therefore, under any circumstances replace the vigilance or the responsibility of the driver.
The driver should always be prepared for sudden accidents while driving: when manoeuvring always check that there are no movable, small or narrow obstacles (such as children, animals, prams, bicycles, stones, posts, etc.) in your blind spot.
warning
Any impact to the underside of the vehicle when manoeuvring (e.g. striking a post, a raised kerb or any other street furniture) may result in damage to the vehicle (e.g. a bent axle).
To prevent any risk of accident, have your vehicle checked by an authorised dealer.
Location of ultrasonic sensors 1
Make sure that the area around the ultrasonic sensors indicated by arrows 1 is not obstructed (by dirt, mud, snow, an incorrectly placed/secured number plate, etc.), has not been subjected to impacts, modified (including painting) or covered by any accessory placed at the rear and, depending on the vehicle, at the front or sides of the vehicle.

The system can perform three types of manoeuvre:
Park the vehicle in a parallel or perpendicular parking space;
Exit vehicle parking between two cars.
On multimedia screen 3 , select the manoeuvre to be performed using the display.
Note: When starting the vehicle or after successful parallel parking with the help of the system, the default manoeuvre proposed by the system is help to get out of a parallel parking space.
In other cases, the preset manoeuvre can be set from multimedia screen 3.

Operation
warning
This function is an addi- tional driving aid.
As such, the system cannot under any circumstances replace the driver's vigilance and responsibility during manoeuvres (the driver must always be ready to brake).
warning
During manoeuvres, the steering wheel will be able to turn quickly: do not put your hands on the inside and make sure that nothing gets stuck inside.
Park the vehicle in a parallel or perpendicular parking space;
When the vehicle speed is below approximately 20 mph, the system searches for available parking spaces on the sides of the vehicle.
After finding a space, it is displayed on multimedia screen 3 , indicated by the letter "P". Drive slowly until the "STOP" message appears, accompanied by an audible signal. If several spaces are detected on either side of the vehicle, you must select the desired space by activating the indicator. If the spaces are on the same side of the vehicle, only the last detected space will be taken into account.
The space is displayed on multimedia screen 3 and is marked with the letter "P".
Stop the vehicle;
- Engage reverse gear.
The indicator light
is displayed on the instrument panel and an audible signal sounds.
Release the steering wheel;
Follow the system instructions presented on the multimedia screen 3 .
The speed should not exceed approximately 4 mph.
When the indicator light
on the instrument panel is switched off, accompanied by an audible signal, it warns you of the end of the manoeuvre.
Exiting a car park between two cars
Enable the "Hands-free parking" function;

is displayed on the instrument panel and an audible signal sounds.
Release the steering wheel;
Perform forward and reverse manoeuvres by following the instructions shown on the multimedia screen 3 and using the alerts issued by the parking assistance system.
The speed should not exceed approximately 4 mph.
As soon as the vehicle is in position to leave the parking space, the indicator light
disappears from the instrument panel, accompanied by an audible signal and a message displayed on the multimedia screen 3 to confirm that the manoeuvre has been completed.
Suspend/resume the manoeuvre
The manoeuvre is suspended in the following cases:
If an obstacle in the trajectory prevents the end of the manoeuvre;
If a door or the boot lid is opened.
The indicator light
disappears from the instrument panel accompanied by an audible signal to inform you that the manoeuvre has been suspended. The message "Park manoeuvre suspended" and the reason for interrupting the manoeuvre will be presented on the multimedia screen 3.

Warnings
warning
This function is an addi- tional driving aid. This function does not in any way replace the vigilance and responsibility of the driver, who must always ensure control of the vehicle. Make sure that the manoeuvre follows the traffic rules in force on the roads used.
The driver must always be prepared for unforeseen events that may arise while driving: always make sure that there are no small, narrow moving obstacles (such as a child, animal, pushchair, bicycle, stone, pole, towing equipment, etc.) in the blind spot during the manoeuvre.
System interventions/repairs
In the event of a collision, the operation of the sensors may be affected. Disable the function and consult an authorised dealer.
Any work in the sensor area (repairs, replacements, modifications to external equipment, etc.) must be carried out by a qualified professional.
Only an authorised dealer is authorised to intervene in the system.
Cases of system disruption
Certain conditions may disturb or prevent system operation, such as adverse weather conditions (snow, hail, ice, etc.).
Contact an authorised dealer if you notice any abnormal behaviour.
Risk of false alarms.
Limitations of system operation
The system may not detect objects in the sensors' blind spots.
Before and throughout the manoeuvre, always check that the parking space suggested by the system is still available and free of obstacles.
The system should not be used when towing a trailer or if there is a towing or cargo transport system in the vehicle or surrounding vehicles.
