Brake fluid level

This should be checked frequently, and any time you notice even the slightest loss in braking efficiency.

The level should be read with the ignition switched off and on level ground.

The engine must be switched off (not placed in neutral) before any operations are carried out in the engine compartment.

You must switch off the ignition Ignition switch.

Level

It is normal for the level to drop as the brake shoes become worn, but they must never be reduced below the "MINI" warning line shown on the brake fluid reservoir 1.

If you intend to personally check the wear of the discs and drums, you can obtain the document explaining the checking procedure on the network or on the manufacturer's website.

When working in the engine compartment, ensure that the windscreen wiper stalk is in the park position.

Filling

After any operation on the hydraulic circuit, a specialist must replace the fluid.

Only use fluids approved by the Technical Department and which have been taken from a sealed container.

Replacement interval

Refer to the maintenance document for your vehicle.

Consult your approved dealer at once if you notice an abnormal or repeated drop in any of the fluid levels.

Window washer

Filling

With the ignition switched off, remove the cap 2. Fill until you can see the fluid, then replace the cap.

This reservoir supplies the front and rear headlight screen washers (if the vehicle is equipped with them).

Note: check the reservoir level on a regular basis, and top up the fluid level before travelling.

Fluid: only use window washer fluids that contain antifreeze.

Please consult an authorised workshop or qualified professional.

Note: do not use water only (risk of rust damage to the pump and limescale in the pump and jets).

Jets: to adjust the height of the windscreen washer jets, head to an Authorised Garage.

When working in the engine compartment, ensure that the windscreen wiper stalk is in the park position.

Filters

Filters (air filter, cabin filter etc.) are replaced during the scheduled servicing of your vehicle

Replacement intervals for filter components: refer to the maintenance service manual for your vehicle.

Cabin filter

If the vehicle is not originally fitted with a cabin filter, it is possible to have one retrofitted.
