Locking/unlocking using the switchblade key. To release the key from its housing, press button 5 and it will be released automatically. Press button 5 and refit the key inside the housing.

tip

The key must not be used for any function other than those described in the user manual (e.g. removing a bottle cap, etc.).

Driver’s responsibility when parking or stopping the vehicle

When leaving the vehicle, never leave children, a dependent adult or animals alone inside it, even for a short time.

They may pose a risk to themselves or to others by starting the engine, activating equipment such as the electric windows or by locking the doors.

Also, in hot and/or sunny weather, please remember that the temperature inside the passenger compartment increases very quickly.

Radio frequency remote control operating range

This varies according to the environment: when handling the remote control, take care not to lock or unlock the doors by inadvertently pressing the buttons.

Note: if a door or the luggage compartment is open or not properly closed, the vehicle will not be locked. A beep sounds and the hazard warning lights and side direction indicator lights do not flash.

Interference

Interference by factors in the immediate vicinity (external installations or the use of equipment operating on the same frequency as the remote control) may affect the remote control's operation.

Recommendations

Avoid leaving the remote control in hot, cold or humid areas.

Replacement and additional keys or remote controls

If you lose your remote control key or require another, you can obtain one from an approved dealer.

If a remote control or key is replaced, it will be necessary to take the vehicle and all of its remote control keys to an authorised dealer to reset them.

You may use up to four remote control keys per vehicle.

Remote control key failure

Make sure that the correct battery type is being used, and that the battery is in good condition and inserted correctly. These batteries should have a service life of approximately two years.

Use

Locking the doors and tailgate

Press the locking button 3.

The hazard warning lights and side in- dicator lights flash twice to indicate that the doors have locked.

If any opening element (door or luggage compartment lid) is open or incorrectly closed, the vehicle will not be locked and the warning lights and side indicator lights will not flash.

Unlocking the doors

Press the unlocking button 2.

The hazard warning lights and side in- dicator lights flash once to indicate that the doors have unlocked.

Note: if a door is not opened within approximately two minutes of the door being unlocked by remote control, the doors will lock again automatically.

Unlocking the luggage compartment only

Press and hold button 4. The luggage compartment door will open slightly.

Operating Faults

Even if the battery is too weak to ensure correct operation, you will still be able to start and lock/unlock the vehicle If the remote control or, depending on the vehicle, the card does not work.

tip

The batteries are available from approved Dealers, and their service life approximately two years.

Check that there is no dye on the battery: risk of an incorrect electrical contact.

warning

If the battery needs to be replaced, be sure to use the same or an equivalent type of battery (consult an approved dealer).

Replacing the battery

Open the cover 1 using a flat head screwdriver or similar tool and replace the battery 2, observing the polarity shown on the back of the cover.

Check that the cover is clipped shut.

Note: when replacing the battery, do not touch the electronic circuit inside the key cover.

When changing:

  • ensure that the batteries have been inserted correctly.

Risk of explosion.

  • if the cover does not close properly, do not use it and keep it out of the reach of children.

Warnings related to batteries:

  • keep all batteries (whether new or used) out of the reach of children;
  • do not swallow the batteries;

Risk of chemical burns that could be life-threatening.

  • If a battery is swallowed or inserted into any part of the body, see a doctor as soon as possible.

Do not throw away your used batteries; give them to an organisation responsible for collecting and recycling batteries.
