Replacing the windscreen wiper blades 2

To replace the wipers, first place them in the service position B.

Engine running or ignition on;

  • Set the stalk 1 to position A twice in succession (single sweep): the wiper blades will stop in position B away from the bonnet;
  • lift the wiper arm 3;
  • Lower the tab 4 then remove the blade 2.

Refitting

To refit the wiper blade 2, insert it into its housing in the arm 3 and press it until you hear a click. Make sure that the blade is correctly locked in position.

To return the wiper blades to the lowered position, make sure the wiper blades are folded against the windscreen then set the stalk 1 to position A (single sweep): the windshield wiper blades will fold into the bonnet when the ignition is switched on.

tip

Regularly inspect the condition of the blades. You are responsible for ensuring they are properly maintained:

  • clean the blades, windscreen and rear screen regularly with soapy water;
  • do not use them when the windscreen or rear screen are dry;
  • free them from the windscreen or rear screen when they have not been used for a long time.

Stem in the stationary position (disabled):

  • lift the wiper arm 6;
  • Turn the pick horizontally 5 (movement C) until it releases;
  • Remove the reed when you pull it out.

To refit

To refit the wiper blade, proceed in reverse order to removal. Make sure that the blade is correctly locked in position.

Before replacing the rear wiper blade, check that the stalk is in the off (deactivated) position.

Risk of injury.

  • In frosty weather, make sure that the wiper blades are not stuck by ice (to avoid the risk of the motor overheating).
  • Keep an eye on the condition of the blades. Replace the wiper blades as soon as they begin to lose efficiency (approximately once a year).

When changing the blade, when it has been removed, do not let the wiper arm fall against the window: risk of breaking the window.
