When the vehicle is unlocked, press zone A to open flap 1, then release it. Flap 1 will open slightly.

Slowly turn the fuel cap 3 counterclockwise to open the filler cover.

Use the cap holder 2 on the flap 1 during filling to hold the cap 3 in place.

Note: In cold weather, the area around the fuel filler cover may freeze and prevent it from opening. Gently tap or press around the cover.

Be sure to use unleaded gasoline that complies with current regulations.

It is essential to use unleaded petrol.

The octane rating (RON) must comply with the information shown on the label on the fuel filler flap 1.

Fuel grade

Use a high-grade fuel that complies with the legislation in force in each country and that complies with the specifications given on the label on the flap 1.

Fuel filler cap: this is a specific type.

If you have to replace it, make sure it is identical to the original cap.

Contact an approved Dealer.

Never place the cap near a source of heat or flame.

Do not wash the filler area with a high pressure washer.

For vehicles equipped with Stop and Start

The engine must be stopped and not on standby in case of vehicles equipped with the Stop and Start to refuel. To stop the engine, always press the vehicle START/STOP button or use the key.

After filling, check that the cap and cover are closed.

Filling with fuel

Use of unapproved fuels and fuel additives can damage the pollution prevention device and will not be covered under warranty.

  • With the ignition off, insert the nozzle and insert it fully before turning it on to fill the fuel tank (risk of splashing).
  • Keep the nozzle in this position throughout the entire filling operation.

Note: With the ignition off, fill the tank with at least approximately 2.20 gallons (10 litres) of fuel, then start the engine to operate the pump and renew the fuel in the circuit. To update the fuel information on the instrument panel when refueling, you must refuel approximately 10 L or more.

Do not use any fuel other than the specified fuel (kerosene, alcohol, aviation fuel, etc.). Also, do not use unapproved fuels or additives. This may damage the vehicle, including the fuel system and engine.

This may cause a fire.

Persistent smell of fuel

If you notice a persistent fuel odour you should:

  • stop the vehicle when traffic conditions allow it and switch off the ignition;
  • switch on the hazard warning lights and ask your passengers to leave the vehicle and set up a safety triangle for the surrounding vehicles.
  • contact an authorised dealer.

Do not mix gasoline and diesel fuel. It may cause a fire.

No modifications whatsoever are permitted on any part of the fuel supply system (electronic units, wiring, fuel tank, fuel pump, fuel injection pipe, fuel lines, injectors, protective covers, fuel filler cap, etc.) as this may be dangerous (unless undertaken by qualified Network personnel).
