Emergency call (SOS button)

In the event of an emergency such as a car accident, this is a service that allows you to receive emergency rescue and assistance for accident handling (vehicle towing service) from the call center by pressing the assist call button (labeled 'SOS') inside the car.

How to use the service (making a call and making a call)

Press the assist call button (labeled 'SOS') 1 located next to the vehicle's interior lamp for more than 3 seconds. When the airbag is deployed, the call will be automatically connected (automatic call reception). When the call is connected to a counselor, speak into the microphone next to the button.

note

Depending on the network status, the message 'Please check assist call' may be displayed on the instrument panel immediately after starting the vehicle. In this case, turn off the vehicle, wait for about 10 minutes, and then restart it. If the message does not disappear after that, contact a designated repair shop.

warning

Service may not be available if the system is damaged due to extreme impact from a vehicle accident or if connectivity services are temporarily suspended.

Airbag deployment notification

  • When an accident occurs in a vehicle where the airbag is deployed, the airbag deployment signal is automatically transmitted to the call center, and the call center and assist call are automatically connected to receive emergency rescue and accident handling support (vehicle towing service).
  • If the vehicle is not connected to the phone, the call center will retry the call using the service subscriber's contact information.

Note: Customers are responsible for parts and other costs incurred due to emergency dispatch services. However, in the case of warranty repairs, they will be provided free of charge.

warning

Airbag deployment notification and assist call use a separate dedicated battery to enable calls even when the vehicle power is cut off. However, the dedicated battery has a lifespan of approximately 4 years, and when it is close to being discharged, the system operation indicator light will light up in red or the message "Please check assist call" will be displayed on the instrument panel. In this case, please have it checked at a designated repair shop as soon as possible.

warning

This safety support service (assist call, airbag deployment notification) is a service provided based on the mobile communication network and the vehicle's communication terminal connected to it. It is a convenience service for additional accident support in cases where the connection with the call center may be unstable due to reasons such as the service status of the mobile communication network at the accident site, unexpected failure of the internal communication terminal and system due to the vehicle accident, etc., and service provision may be limited. It cannot replace the direct accident response of the driver and passengers.

Therefore, the driver should not drive solely relying on this service, and should always comply with traffic laws and actively drive defensively to prevent accidents in advance. In emergency situations such as accidents, regardless of whether this service is provided, promptly turn on the emergency lights and take measures to prevent secondary accidents.

Refer to the 'Accident, fire, and heavy snow' page in the owner's manual.
