The navigation system

On equipped vehicles, the navigation system will determine your location and guide you using the following information:

  • from the GPS receiverGPS;
  • from the digital map.

GPS receiver

The navigation system uses GPS (Global Positioning System) satellites orbiting the Earth.

The GPS receiver receives signals transmitted from several satellites. The system can then locate the position of the vehicle.

Note: after moving a long distance without driving (ferry, rail freight), the system may take several minutes to adjust before returning to normal operation.

The digital map

The digital map contains the road maps and town maps that the system requires.

"Map" USB USB key

Install the most recent version by inserting your USB flash drive into a computer that is connected to the internet. Refer to the section on "Map update".

Note: the USB key is not provided with the system.

If possible, always use the most recent version.

Insert USB key

Insert your USB drive into your vehicle's A port. To identify the location of the USBA port, please refer to the Vehicle User Manual (if necessary).
