Renault Koleos
Advice on use
In some situations (air conditioning off, air recirculation activated, ventilation speed at zero or low etc.), you may notice that condensation starts to form on the windows and windscreen.
If there is condensation, use the Clear View function to remove it, then use the air conditioning in automatic mode to stop it forming again.
After using the AC for a long time, the automatic ventilation function is supported for about 1 minute after driving.
After using the AC function, moisture may remain inside the air vents, which may cause odor. If possible, turn off the AC function of the air conditioner about 5 minutes before turning off the vehicle to remove the moisture inside the air vents through ventilation.
Fuel consumption
You will normally notice an increase in fuel consumption (especially when driving in town) when the air conditioning is operating.
Advice for reducing consumption and helping to preserve the environment
Drive with the air vents open and the windows closed.
It is also recommended to frequently open the windows for ventilation to maintain pleasant indoor air.
If the vehicle has been parked in the sun, open the doors for a few moments to let the hot air escape before starting the engine.
Maintenance
The vehicle is equipped with an air conditioner filter that collects dust, pollen, and other particles. To use the air conditioner comfortably, the filter should be replaced regularly.
Even if the air conditioner filter replacement cycle has not passed, if the system's airflow decreases sharply or the windshield frequently fogs up, visit a designated service center.
Operating faults
As a general rule, contact your approved dealer in the event of an operating fault.
- Reduction in de-icing, demisting or air conditioning performance.
This may be caused by the cabin filter cartridge becoming clogged.
- No cold air is being produced.
Check that the controls are set correctly and that the fuses are sound. Otherwise, switch off the system.
warning
Presemce of water under the vehicle
After prolonged use of the air conditioning system, it is normal for water to be present under the vehicle. This is caused by condensation.
warning
- Do not sleep in the vehicle with the air conditioner or heater on. Also, do not use the air conditioner or heater in a closed condition for a long time.
- Do not open the refrigerant circuit. The fluid may damage eyes or skin.
Air conditioning operation for Hybrid version
The air conditioning system uses the motor fan and compressor at various intensities during operation. In the case of hybrid specifications, the air conditioning operation sound may be heard from outside the vehicle when parked or stopped, but this is a normal operation sound for optimizing the interior air conditioning and battery temperature.
Refrigerant fluid
The refrigerant fluid circuit (of which some components are hermetically sealed) may contain fluorinated greenhouse gases.
Depending on the vehicle, you will find the following information on label A affixed inside the engine compartment.
The presence and location of the information on label A depends on the vehicle.
-
Type of refrigerant fluid
-
Types of oil in the air conditioning circuit
- Combustion engine vehicles: PAG
- Hybrid vehicles: POE
-
Inflammable product

warning
Before carrying out any action in the engine compartment, you must switch off the ignition. Starting, stopping the engine
warning
Be careful, as using refrigerant that does not meet the specifications may cause damage to the vehicle.
Air conditioner refrigerant is under high pressure and is flammable, especially depending on the specifications, so there is a risk of injury if you repair the air conditioner refrigerant yourself. Be sure to visit an approved dealer.
warning
Do not open the refrigerant circuit. The fluid may damage eyes or skin.
