For your safety, the following must be observed when using the jack

  • Switch on the hazard warning lights.
  • Keep the vehicle away from traffic andvehiclemust be positioned on a firm, flat, non-slip ground.
  • Apply the parking brake and engage a gear in ‘P’.
  • Ask the passengers to leave the vehicle and to keep away from traffic.
  • Do not use jack in passengers and luggage laid condition.
  • Check that the jack is not damaged and deformed, that the threads are sufficiently lubricated, and that it is free of dirt.
  • Before jack-up the wheel, stoppers (large stones, solid wooden blocks) must be placed on the front and rear of other tires.
  • When raising a vehicle using jack, never get under a vehicle or put any part of body under a vehicle.

Risk of damage to the vehicle

  • Unlock the wheel bolts using the wheelbrace 3.
  • position it so as to be able to push from above.
  • position the jack 1 horizontally. The jack head must be lined up with the sill closest to the wheel concerned and indicated by the arrow 7.
  • start cranking the jack by the wheelbrace 3 linked to the jack rod 2, positioning the jack support plate 8 in the slightly indented groove underneath the vehicle, located underneath the vehicle panel reinforcement and in the direction of the arrow 7.
  • continue to crank the jack until the baseplate is correctly positioned (it should be underneath the vehicle and vertically aligned with the jack head). Turn it a few times to lift the wheel off the ground.
  • undo the bolts and take off the wheel. Fit the emergency spare wheel on the central hub and turn it to locate the mounting holes in the wheel and the hub.
  • tighten the bolts, checking that the wheel is correctly positioned on its hub.
  • lower the jack.
  • with the wheel on the ground, tighten the bolts fully and have the tightness of the bolts checked and the emergency spare wheel pressure checked as soon as possible.

If you have a puncture, replace the wheel as soon as possible.

A tyre which has been punctured should always be inspected (and repaired, where possible) by a specialist.

Do not leave the tools unsecured inside the vehicle as they may be projected during braking.

After use, check that all the tools are correctly clipped into the tool kit, then position it correctly in its housing to reduce any risk of injury.
