Renault Kardian Latam
Usable tank capacity: approximately 50 litres.
For details on filling the fuel tank, refer to the information under "Filling with fuel".
Pull the lever 2 to unlock the fuel filler flap A. Open it, then unscrew the fuel filler cap 1.
There is a cap holder 3 on the fuel tank flap to hold the cap during fuelling.
warning
The fuel filler cap is specifically designed for your vehicle. If you have to replace it, make sure the new cap is of the same type. Consult an approved dealer.
Never place the cap near a source of heat or flame.
Do not wash the filler area with a high-pressure washer.
Fuel grade
Versions Flex (petrol and ethanol)
Engines with a Flex system (petrol and ethanol) can run on a mixture of petrol and ethanol in any proportion (hydrous ethanol and/or unleaded petrol).
When changing fuel from petrol to ethanol and vice versa, remember that the fuel injection system takes several miles to adapt to the new fuel supply.
Petrol versions
It is essential to use unleaded petrol. The octane rating (RON) must match the information shown on the fuel filler flap A. Consult the "Engine characteristics" information on page Engine specifications.
warning
Flex (petrol and ethanol) vehicles use only type-C petrol, premium petrol or ethanol.
For journeys out of the country, do not fill up in any circumstances with leaded petrol or pure petrol with an octane rating less than 95.
warning
Persistent smell of fuel
If there is a persistent smell of fuel, stop the vehicle when traffic conditions allow and switch off the ignition. Switch on the hazard warning lights and ask your passengers to leave the vehicle and to keep away from traffic. Please contact an authorised dealer.
warning
The correct way to indicate fuel after filling is to carry out the operation with the ignition off and fill with at least 2.20 gal (10 litres) of fuel.
warning
No modifications whatsoever are permitted on any part of the fuel supply system (electronic unit, wiring, fuel circuit, injector, protective covers, etc.) as this may be dangerous (unless undertaken by qualified Network personnel).
warning
The engine may be hot when working in close proximity. In addition, the engine cooling fan can come on at any moment. The symbol
in the engine compartment reminds you of this.
Risk of injury.
Filling with fuel
With the ignition off, insert the nozzle fully to open the valve before starting to fill up (otherwise there is a risk of spilling and splashing fuel).
The useable fuel tank capacity is reached when the filling nozzle shuts off automatically for the third time. Do not go beyond this point to leave room in the tank for expansion and to avoid leaks.
Make sure that no water enters the fuel tank during filling. The valve and its surround must remain clean.
