Brake fluid

This should be checked frequently, and any time you notice even the slightest loss in braking efficiency.

The level should be read with the engine off and on level ground.

Level

Usually, the level will drop as the brake shoes become worn, but it must never drop below the "MINI" warning level indicated on the brake fluid reservoir 1.

When working in the engine compartment, ensure that the windscreen wiper stalk is in the park position.

Filling

After any operation on the hydraulic circuit, a specialist must replace the fluid.

Only use fluids approved by the Technical Assistance, and in a sealed container.

Replacement interval

Refer to the maintenance document for your vehicle.

tip

Contact an authorised workshop immediately if the level falls abnormally or repeatedly.

Windscreen washer

Top up

With the ignition switched off, remove the cap 2. Fill until you can see the fluid, then replace the cap.

This reservoir supplies the front and rear headlight screen washers (if the vehicle is equipped with them).

Note: check the reservoir level regularly and top up the liquid level before travelling.

Fluid: special windscreen washer fluid (anti-freeze product in winter).

Use products recommended by an approved dealer.

Jets: use a tool such as a needle to adjust the height of the windscreen washer jets.

Filters

Filters (e.g. the air filter) are replaced during the scheduled servicing of your vehicle

Replacement intervals for filter components: refer to the Maintenance Document for your vehicle.

Passenger compartment filter

If your vehicle is not originally fitted with a passenger compartment filter, it is possible to have one retrofitted.

Consult an approved dealer.
