Opening the bonnet

To open, pull the lever 1 located on the left-hand side of the dashboard.

After releasing the lever, pulling it again will open the bonnet.

Depending on the action of the air springs on the left and right sides of the bonnet, lifting it to a certain height will allow it to open to the maximum position.

Please note when working close to the engine that it may be hot. The engine cooling fan may also start at any moment.

Closing the bonnet

Before closing the bonnet, make sure that nothing has been left in the engine compartment.

When you close the bonnet down, you will hear a click indicating that the locking mechanism has engaged.

After closing the bonnet, lift the edges to ensure it is fully secured.

If it is not fully locked, hold the middle of the bonnet and lower it to about one foot (30 cm) above the closed position, then release it. It will latch automatically under its own weight.

Do not press down directly on the bonnet to close it, as applying pressure on the front edge or the centre of the bonnet may cause damage.

Avoid placing any pressure on the engine bonnet: risk of the bonnet closing by accident.

Any intervention or modification on the vehicle's high voltage electrical system (components, cables, connectors, traction battery) is strictly prohibited.

The risk of serious burns or electric shocks can lead to death.

In the event of even a slight impact involving the radiator grille or bonnet, have the bonnet lock checked by an approved dealer as soon as possible.

Before closing the bonnet, ensure there are no items (tools, paper, cloth, etc.) in the engine compartment that could interfere with vehicle operation. Also, remove any flammable objects such as leaves from between the bonnet and windscreen. Fire hazard.

After any procedure in the engine compartment, make sure that you do not forget anything (cloth, tools, etc.).

Otherwise, this may lead to engine damage or cause a fire.

Ensure that the bonnet is properly locked.

Check that nothing is preventing the catch from locking (gravel, cloth, etc.).

When working in the engine compartment, ensure that the windscreen wiper stalk is in the park position.

Risk of injury.

Do not drive the vehicle with the bonnet improperly closed. If the bonnet suddenly opens, it could obstruct the driver's view, leading to injury or death and causing property damage.

Do not close the bonnet by holding the part (air springs) 2 that supports. Applying external forces, such as hanging on to the air spring, may damage the part and cause injury.
