When the vehicle is stationary (e.g. at a red light, an intersection, in a traffic jam, etc.), the function maintains braking force when the driver releases the brake pedal.

The braking force is released as soon as the driver accelerates sufficiently with a gear engaged.

Switching on

Press switch 2.

Indicator light 1 on switch 2 lights up to confirm that the function is enabled.

Deactivation

Press the brake pedal and switch 2 at the same time.

Indicator light 1 on switch 2 goes out to confirm that the function has been disabled.

When maintaining braking force, the parking brake is automatically applied when:

  • the driver gets out of the vehicle;

or

  • the vehicle remains stationary for more than approximately three minutes.

Conditions for maintaining braking force

The following conditions must be met:

  • The driver's seat belt is not fastened;

and

  • The assisted parking brake is released;

and

  • The vehicle is not stopped on a very steep slope.

Maintaining braking force is confirmed by indicator light 2_ALL_347_1_pictogramme.png on the dashboard.

Conditions for releasing the braking force

The following conditions must be met:

  • The driver accelerates sufficiently with a gear engaged;

or

  • The driver deactivates the function.

The indicator light 2_ALL_347_1_pictogramme.png on the dashboard turns off.

tip

After each start, the function returns to the state it was in at the last stop.

warning

The assisted parking brake ensures that the vehicle is brought to a standstill. Before exiting the vehicle, check that the assisted parking brake is properly activated.

Tightening is indicated by turning on the indicator light on switch 2 and indicator light 2_ALL_026_1_pictogramme.png on the panel until the doors are locked. Depending on the vehicle, a sticker at the top of the windscreen indicates this.
