Renault Kardian Latam
If installed on the vehicle, the four cameras 1, 2 and 3 on the front bumper, the door mirrors and on the luggage compartment door help during difficult manoeuvres.
The cameras transmit four different views to the screen 4, helping the driver see the area surrounding the vehicle.
Note: check that the cameras are not obstructed (by dirt, mud, snow, etc.).
warning
This function is an additional aid. It cannot, therefore, under any circumstances replace the vigilance or the responsibility of the driver.
The driver should always be prepared for unexpected situations while driving: when manoeuvring always check that there are no mobile, small or narrow obstacles (such as children, animals, prams, bicycles, stones, posts, etc.) in your blind spot.
Activating the system
The system can be activated when the ignition is on:
- when in automatic mode, when changing to reverse gear: the system is activated and the camera located on the luggage compartment door transmits a view of the area behind the vehicle to the screen 4.
- in manual mode, with the vehicle stationary and the engine running, in the "Vehicle" world of the multimedia screen 4, press the "Camera" menu and the front view will appear on the multimedia screen.
Note: depending on the vehicle, certain settings can be adjusted from the screen 4. Consult the instructions for the multimedia system.
Automatic mode
The automatic mode is activated when the reverse gear is engaged and the screen 4 shows the view transmitted from the rear camera. When there is a rapid change from reverse gear to a forward gear, the screen 4 shows the image from the front camera.
The automatic mode is deactivated:
- by selecting the view from another camera using the menu on the screen 4;
- automatically when you reach a speed of approximately 12 mph (20 km/h);
- by deactivating the system: consult the "Multi-view camera - Deactivating the system" information.
Manual mode
To activate it, select the view from the camera desired using the menu on the screen 4.
A message will be shown on the screen 4 for approximately five seconds to confirm the activation of manual mode.
The manual mode is deactivated:
- automatically when you reach a speed of approximately 12 mph (20 km/h);
- by deactivating the system: consult the "Multi-view camera - Deactivating the system" information.
Reversing camera 3
When the rear camera is activated automatically or manually, the camera view is shown on the screen 4.
Fixed clearance guide line 6
The fixed area is made of colour marks A, B and C which indicate the distance behind the vehicle:
- A (red) approximately 30 centimetres from the vehicle;
- B (yellow) approximately 70 centimetres from the vehicle;
- C (green) approximately 150 centimetres from the vehicle.
tip
The image on the multimedia screen may appear to be moving faster than is actually the case.
Mobile gauged 7
This information is shown in blue on the multimedia screen 4. It indicates the vehicle trajectory according to the position of the steering wheel.
tip
The screen displays a reverse mirror image.
The frames are a representation projected onto a flat surface. This information should not be considered when superimposed on a vertical object or an object on the ground.
Objects which appear on the edge of the screen may be deformed.
In very bright light (snow, vehicle in sunshine etc.), the camera vision may be adversely affected.
If the luggage compartment is open or incorrectly closed, the "Luggage compartment open" message is displayed.
Front camera 1
If the front camera is activated automatically or manually, the camera view is shown on the screen 4.
Fixed clearance guide line 8
The fixed area consists of coloured marks D,E and F which indicate the distance in front of the vehicle:
- D(red) approximately 30 centimetres from the vehicle;
- E (yellow) approximately 70 centimetres from the vehicle;
- F (green) approximately 150 centimetres from the vehicle.

The screen displays a reverse mirror image.

warning
The area within 30 cm of the front of the vehicle is not detected by the system and is not visible on the screen. Do not forget this area.
Risk of damage to the vehicle.
Side cameras 2
the cameras 2, fitted on the door mirrors, transmit the side views to the screen 4.
To activate the desired camera view, select it on the screen 4:
For more information, please see the multimedia equipment instructions.
Difference between the estimated distance and the actual distance
Driving or reversing towards a steep uphill slope
The fixed guide lines 9 show distances as shorter than in reality.
The objects shown on the screen are actually further away on the slope.
For example, if the screen displays an object at G, the actual distance of the object is H.
Driving or reversing towards a steep downhill slope
The fixed guide lines 9 show distances as further away than in reality.
However, the objects shown on the screen are actually closer on the slope.
For example, if the screen displays an object at K, the actual distance of the object is J.
Driving or reversing toward a protruding object
Position L appears to be further away than position M on the screen. However, position L is at the same distance as position N.
The trajectory indicated by the fixed and mobile guide lines does not take into account the height of the object. There is a risk that the vehicle will collide with the object while reversing towards position N.
