The following guidance will enable a rapid, temporary solution. For safety reasons you should always contact an approved dealer as soon as possible.

Using the card

POSSIBLE CAUSES

The card does not lock or unlock the doors.

Card battery is flat.

Replace battery. You can still lock/unlock the vehicle and start the engine Locking, unlocking the doors and the luggage compartment door.

Use of appliances operating on the same frequency as the card (mobile phone, etc.).

Stop using the devices or use the key provided Locking, unlocking the doors and the luggage compartment door.

Vehicle located in a high electromagnetic radiation zone.

Vehicle battery flat.

Use the key built into the card Locking, unlocking the doors and the luggage compartment door.

The message "Place card on the + START zone" appears on the instrument panel.

Place the card in the appropriate area, Startup ignition, vehicle with card then press the START button.

The vehicle has started.

With the engine running, the locking/unlocking function is disabled. Switch off the ignition.

Card desynchronised.

Unlock the driver's door by inserting the card's built-in key into the door lock Locking, unlocking the doors and the luggage compartment door. Then place the card on the symbol Operating Faults and press the start button to synchronise the card.

Using the remote control

The remote control does not lock or unlock the doors.

The remote control battery is flat.

Use the emergency key.

Use of appliances operating on the same frequency as the remote control (mobile phone, etc.).

Stop using the devices or use the key.

Vehicle located in a high electromagnetic radiation zone.

Discharged battery.

Replace battery. You can still lock, unlock and start the vehicle Locking, unlocking the doors and the luggage compartment doorStarting ignition, vehicle with key.

The vehicle has started.

With the engine running, the key's locking/unlocking function is disabled. Switch off the ignition.

Remote control desynchronisation.

Unlock the driver’s door inserting the key in the lock and start the engine to synchronise the remote control.

The starter is activated

POSSIBLE CAUSES

WHAT TO DO

The warning lights on the instrument panel are dim or do not light up and the engine does not start.

Battery terminals are loose, disconnected or oxidised.

Retighten or reconnect the terminals, or clean them if they are oxidised.

Discharged battery or not operational.

Connect the battery to another charged battery or replace the battery if necessary Battery: troubleshooting.

Faulty circuit.

Consult an Approved Dealer.

The engine will not start.

Starting conditions are not fulfilled.

Starting ignition, vehicle with key or Startup ignition, vehicle with card.

The hands-free card does not work.

Place the card in the recess designated for this purpose on the centre console Operating Faults.

With the vehicle stationary and the engine cold, the idle speed is high.

In the petrol version, this does not necessarily indicate a fault. It may be caused by an increase in engine temperature.

The engine's idle speed should slow down after about one minute. If it does not, it may be caused by another fault. Please contact an authorised dealer.

The engine cannot be switched off.

Card not detected.

Place the card in the slot provided for this purpose on the central console.

Press and hold the start button.

Electronic fault.

Press and hold the Start button 3 times quickly, or hold it down.

On the road

POSSIBLE CAUSES

WHAT TO DO

Vibrations.

Tyres not inflated to correct pressures, incorrectly balanced or damaged.

Check the tyre pressures: if this is not the problem, have them checked by an approved dealer.

White smoke from the exhaust.

In the petrol version, this does not necessarily indicate a fault. Depending on the weather conditions (cold, damp, etc.), smoke may be produced when accelerating hard.

Reduce the revs and avoid accelerating sharply so that the smoke gradually disappears. If it does not, it may be caused by another fault. Consult an Approved Dealer.

Smoke under the bonnet.

Short-circuit or cooling system leak.

Stop, switch off the ignition and move away from the vehicle. Please contact an authorised dealer.

The oil pressure warning light comes on:

while cornering or braking.

The level is too low.

Top up the engine oil level Engine oil.

is slow to go out or remains lit under acceleration

Loss of oil pressure

Stop the vehicle: contact an approved Dealer.

On the road

POSSIBLE CAUSES

WHAT TO DO

Steering becomes heavy.

Assistance overheating.

Drive carefully at low speed and pay attention to the amount of force required on the steering wheel to steer the vehicle.

Fault in the auxiliary electric motor.

Fault in the auxiliary system.

consult an approved dealer.

The engine is overheating. The coolant temperature level is in the warning zone and the 1_ALL_040_1_pictogramme.png warning light comes on.

Engine cooling fan not working.

Stop the vehicle and switch off the engine. Please contact an authorised dealer.

Coolant leaks.

Check the coolant reservoir: it should contain coolant. If there is no coolant, consult an approved dealer as soon as possible.

Coolant boiling in the coolant reservoir.

Mechanical fault: cylinder head gasket damaged.

Stop the engine.

Radiator: if the coolant level is very low, remember that cold coolant must never be added if the engine is very hot. After any procedure on the vehicle which has involved even partial draining of the cooling system, it must be refilled with a new mixture prepared in the correct proportions. Reminder: only products approved by our Technical Department may be used for this purpose.

Electrical equipment

The wipers do not work.

Wiper blades stuck.

Free the blades before using the wipers.

Faulty electrical circuit.

Fuse blown.

Replace the fuse or have it replaced Fuses.

The wiper does not stop.

Faulty electrical controls.

Consult an approved Dealer

Direction indicators flashing more quickly.

Rear light bulb burnt out.

Rear and side lights

The indicators are not working.

Faulty electrical circuit or control.

Consult an approved Dealer

Fuse blown.

Replace the fuse or have it replaced Fuses.

The lights do not come on or go off.

Faulty electrical circuit or control.

Consult an approved Dealer

Fuse blown.

Replace the fuse or have it replaced Fuses.

Electrical equipment

POSSIBLE CAUSES

WHAT TO DO

Signs of condensation on the headlights or rear lights.

Condensation can occur because of natural changes in temperature and humidity.

If this is the case, condensation will slowly disappear when the lights are switched on.

The reminder warning light for the front seat belts lights up when the belts are connected.

An object is stuck between the floor and the seat and is obstructing the operation of the sensor.

Remove all objects from under the front seats.
